Samsung (Aust) Pty Ltd was established in 1975 as a wholly
owned subsidiary of Samsung Corporation, to promote trade
between Australia, Korea and third countries. Globally, Samsung’s
activities include consumer electronics, chemicals and petrochemicals,
resources development, aerospace development, aerospace industries,
foodstuffs, financial and information services.
Samsung Corporation is the trading arm of the Samsung Group,
and is Korea’s first general trading company. More recently,
we have been actively involved in overseas natural resource
development, including coal, petroleum, natural gas, as well
as expansion into areas such as engineering, construction
and heavy industries.
The group employs over 174,000 throughout 65 countries, with
revenue in 2001 exceeding US$119.5 billion making it one of
the largest companies in the world.
